Welcome to our British restaurant and pub, with gardens, in the picturesque countryside of Cornwall, between Truro and Newquay. We offer sustainable British pub food, with a luxury approach. It’s a simple offering but really showcases the best of produce from in and around Cornwall. Our Sunday lunch is perfect to come and enjoy with your friends and family (and your dogs are more than welcome too!).
The name ‘The Tartan Fox’ is inspired by my Scottish roots and the location of the pub, which is nestled in the middle of a Cornish forest and, much like a fox’s home, is a den to escape in the countryside. A group of foxes is called an earth, which ties into my commitment to sustainability. I’m all about celebrating the history of this stunning 400-year-old Grade II listed building, which sits on a 30 acre estate.

For smaller parties, I’d love you to join us in our semi-private dining areas. There are two different experiences you can choose from – you can tell us your favourite dishes and we’ll make them for you, so you can enjoy them at your party or you can trust me and let me show you the experience that we offer in the restaurant. You’ll have your own dedicated waiter, to give you a memorable dining experience.
Scottish-born, Chef Adam, didn’t always have a love for food but his passion, drive and determination saw him start his apprenticeship at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel, in Scotland – at the age of 16 – and never look back.
Adam’s cooking is all about celebrating the incredible produce he uses – his dishes are packed full of flavour to really make those ingredients shine.
